Svenje's
Ultra Marathon Therapy Intensive Fundraiser
Those that know Svenje, know that she's a little crazy (but in a super great way!!). Two of the things that she's extra crazy about is helping kids and running extremely long distances over very difficult terrain (...did we mention she's crazy? ;)).

She's set out to run the Sinister Sports Ultra Marathon on July 13. That's 50 miles (or 80 km!!). The race will take her through the most rugged and remote terrain of the Rocky Mountain, during which she'll experience 2,985m of elevation gain.
She's been training hard for this endeavour and what will help her have an extra kick in her step during those grueling daily 5am training runs is a little support from some nice folks who care about kids just as much as she does.

As part of this race she is fundraising funds for one lucky kiddo to take part in a 3-week Therapy Intensive. In her own words "I've experienced first hand how often life changing an intensive therapy block can be for a child and sadly also know how it's not affordable for tons and tons of people....so why 3 weeks? I honestly believe that something incredible happens neurologically between the end of week 2 and start of week 3 in a therapy intensive".

The total cost of 3 weeks will be $7,600...and although this is an ambitious goal, if 95 people sponsor $1 per km (ie. $80/person) then this target can be reached. Bigger and smaller donations are also welcome, of course! Every little bit helps.

This Intensive Therapy Block will include 54 hours of therapy, including the child working with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists. This experience can easily turn one lucky child's entire life around. If there's an investment that's 'worth it'...this one certainly is!!!
